Julie Mellan’s love for art began the first day she could hold a pen. She spent her childhood drawing the animal characters from the old classic Disney animated movies, and reading Beatrix Potter's books. After earning a literary bachelor’s degree, she studied classic drawing, illustration, and animation in the French art school Ecole Emile Cohl for four years. Once graduated, she’s pursued her love for illustration since 2011, with her work appearing in many children’s books, published among others, by Penguin Random House, Clavis and Fleurus. Attached to traditional mediums, her art portrays clumsy, cute animal characters in pencil sketch and watercolor.
