Monica is an award-winning director, storyboard artist, illustrator, and creator who has worked in animation for the past ten years at studios such as Nickelodeon, Disney TV, DreamWorks TV, Paramount Animation, Atomic Cartoons, and Kickstart Entertainment. She won the Gracie Allen Award in 2021 for her directorial work on Nick Jr.'s Santiago of the Seas and has also been in development on her own original preschool series with Netflix Animation. In her spare time she enjoys running, hiking, baking cookies, and hanging out with her cat Sally.

We all know that storyboard directors are an important part of the television pipeline but what exactly does the the job entail? What skills are needed to become a director? And how do you move up from an artistic position into a supervisory one? Directors Ashlyn Anstee (Monster High, Jessica's Big Little World, Scooby Doo and the Mystery Pups), Violaine Briat (Wings of Fire, Loud House, Across the Spiderverse), and Jess Cuffe (Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, Legend of Vox Machina, Guardians of the Galaxy), along with moderator Monica Davila (Big Hero 6: The Series, Dogs in Space, Princess Power) will dive into these questions and more.
