Paul Lasaine

Paul Lasaine is an Annie Award winning production designer, art director and concept artist, whose career spans three decades. He began his career in live-action films as a traditional matte artist and matte painting supervisor. Later, he work as a concept artist and art director on the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Since then, Paul has focused on animation, and has worked on dozens of projects at studios such as DreamWorks, Disney, Sony, Warner Brothers, and Laika. He is currently the production designer on the Marvel Studios series, What If...?

From Dick Tracy, to The Prince of Egypt, to The Spider-Verse, to What If…?, Paul Lasaine has worn a lot of different hats, and he’s seen a lot of s#*t go down! Come hear him talk about his storied career, his artwork, and quite possibly his adventures living in New Zealand, working on those little films about Hobbits.
